Pharmacy
Pharmacist
The Pharmacist is responsible for the preparation, compounding and dispensing of medications according to the laws and regulations governing pharmacists and the practice of pharmacy. The pharmacist is responsible for the optimization of drug therapy by identifying, resolving, and preventing drug-related problems and adverse drug events. The pharmacist provides in-depth clinical monitoring of patients based on their advanced therapeutic knowledge and ability for resolution of complex patient care problems. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy required. Candidates must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of New Hampshire. Two to five years of hospital pharmacy experience is required with two years of oncology experience preferred.
Allied Health
Clinic Assistant
The Clinic Assistant is responsible for direct care provided to patients and for contributing to efficient operations in the patient care environment. Direct patient care activities include but are not limited to obtaining vital signs, obtaining blood specimens and assisting nursing and medical staff in performing invasive procedures, such as bone marrow aspirates and lumbar punctures. Indirect patient care activities include those that support clinic operations such as ordering and stocking clinical supplies and patient education materials, transporting patients and specimens as needed, and monitoring the environment of care. High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of a nursing assistant certification program, (CNA) or medical assistant program required. Two years of experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting and/or national phlebotomy certification required.
Nursing
Research Nurse
The Research Nurse Coordinator, in collaboration with the physician Research Director, is responsible for overall clinical research operations at DFCI/NHOH at Londonderry. The Research Nurse utilizes evidence-based nursing practice and has expertise in developing and coordinating a plan of care designed to meet the physical, psychological, and social needs of those cancer patients and their families undergoing therapy on a clinical research trial. The Research Nurse is responsible for developing the infrastructure which supports the safe execution and accurate billing of clinical trials at the center. This requires significant coordination with departments at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as well as multiple departments in the local community who render research related services. Licensed Nurse in the state of New Hampshire, in good standing. BS in Nursing required from a NLN or CCE accredited school. Minimum of 1 year recent oncology experience, research experience strongly preferred.
Staff Nurse
The Staff Nurse cares for individuals receiving therapy for oncologic and hematologic problems. The nurse's responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for a complex patient population. The nurse's role includes administration of chemotherapy and other medications and infusions, telephone nursing care, direct patient care and charge capture/billing for all services rendered. The role requires clinical expertise, critical thinking, collaborative practice, excellent communication skills and an understanding of the principles and practices of clinical research. Licensed Nurse in the state of New Hampshire, in good standing. BS in Nursing from a NLN or CCE accredited school (or currently matriculated in BS program). Minimum of 1 year recent experience as an RN. Certification in Oncology Nursing, OCN, AOCN, or CPON preferred.
Clinical Nurse Leader
The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) is responsible for day to day patient flow and operations in the infusion unit. Responsibilities include coordination and supervision of nursing and clinical assistant staff in providing care to individuals receiving therapy for oncologic and hematologic problems. The Clinical Nurse Leader will provide direct patient care, including administration of chemotherapy, medication and other infusions, teaching and counseling. Provides clinical leadership and management, and promotes professional growth for self and staff. The CNL demonstrates systems thinking, response to diversity, collaboration, clinical judgment, clinical inquiry, facilitation of learning and advocacy for patients and staff and serves as a mentor for nursing colleagues. Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Applicants must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of New Hampshire. Hematology Oncology experience including IV skills required with OCN, AOCN, or CPON preferred.
Other
Part-time Nutritionist
The Nutritionist is responsible for the design and implementation of a plan of nutritional care for ambulatory oncology patients at the Dana-Farber/New Hampshire Oncology-Hematology unit based on identification and assessment of a patient's nutritional needs, correlated with other health plans. This position requires knowledge and experience in a broad scope of nutrition, encompassing total parenteral and metabolic nutrition as well as preventive and alternative/complementary medicine therapies for oncology specialty areas. Contributes to planning and delivery of the nutrition component in the patient care programs at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and serves as a resource for the hospital and community.
Social Worker
As a member of the DFCI/NHOH Oncology team, this ambulatory-based position provides clinical psychosocial intervention, including crisis intervention, individual, couples and family counseling, support groups, financial advocacy and short-term bereavement therapy. Plays a key role as a member of the multidisciplinary oncology team in this patient- and family-centered practice. Coordinates patient care through the continuum, facilitating the achievement of optimal quality outcomes in relation to clinical care and cost-effectiveness. Collaborates with Case Managers in achieving optimal discharge plan through identification of and intervention on psychosocial barriers. Provides for the coordination of services to patients/families in all settings of care - inpatient, ambulatory and community. New Hampshire social work license required.
