Friends' Board and Bios

Louise Nolan

Louise Nolan was born in Boston, and grew up in Lexington, Mass., where she presently resides. She did her undergraduate work at Regis College, majoring in Biology and Chemistry, earned a master's degree in Science Education at Boston University and has a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College.

Currently an adjunct professor in Biology at Middlesex Community College and the founder and principal of Nolan Educational Consultants, Louise is the former assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in the Woburn Public School system. She has also been an assistant adjunct professor at Boston College and was a junior high school science teacher in Woburn. Louise is the author of several textbooks, including Physical Science – The Challenge of Discovery and Health Physical Science, and has been recognized by numerous academic and scientific organizations.

Louise has been a volunteer in the Friends' Corner Gift Shop since 2004 and is also actively involved with the Museum of Fine Arts and Traveling Teachers. Additional interests include serigraphy and calligraphy.
