ORANGE IS THE NEW YELLOW

Bracelets to Help ‘Cure Leukemia in Our Lifetime'

An orange bracelet bearing the phrase, "Cure Leukemia in Our Lifetime," is the newest to join this unique and successful philanthropic phenomenon.

The bracelets are also emblazoned with the phrase "Embrace Life." These important fundraisers can be purchased for $3 online at www.embracelife.us or in the Friends Gift Shop at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit leukemia research at Dana-Farber.

The idea was conceived by Midge Lipkin of Belmont, Mass., who is currently undergoing treatment for chronic lymphocyte leukemia (CLL) at Dana-Farber.

"I feel strongly that it is time to educate the public about leukemia and especially CLL," says Lipkin. "With the proper funds, I think doctors and researchers will find a cure so all of us can embrace life."

Dana-Farber has been at the forefront of research for all forms of cancer. The Institute has made important breakthroughs in treatment for childhood leukemias and its research is exploring new, more effective methods for treating adult leukemias.
