Naming Opportunities

With a special gift to Dana-Farber, you can create a lasting tribute to a loved one, ensuring that their name becomes part of the fabric of cutting-edge research and life-saving treatment at Dana-Farber. Donors may name endowments as well as research labs, clinics, and other important spaces throughout the Institute.

Named endowment opportunities:

Senior Investigatorship

Endowing a senior investigatorship helps Dana-Farber to recruit, retain, and reward its best and brightest physicians and scientists. With a gift of $2.5 million, you can establish a permanent fund to underwrite the critical research and care initiatives of a senior researcher, allowing him or her to pursue new ways to treat, cure, and ultimately prevent cancer without financial constraints.

Fellowship

As an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, Dana-Farber has a special obligation to help train the next generation of leaders in medical research and patient care. Fellowships allow young physicians and scientists to complete specialty training after completing their doctoral degrees. A gift of $1 million will allow the Institute to attract the brightest young physicians and scientists to train at Dana-Farber and provide specialized training opportunities of the highest caliber for the next generation of leaders in research.

Research Fund

An endowed research fund assures continuing support for the critical laboratory and clinical research of Dana-Farber's physicians and scientists. A gift of $250,000 or more may be used to establish a named endowed research fund. Donors may choose a specific type of research, clinical area, or other Institute program as the beneficiary of their endowment.

Seminars in Oncology

Communication between basic scientists and clinicians is critical to the progression of discoveries from the laboratory to the patient's bedside. Dana-Farber's Weekly Seminars in Oncology provide an ideal forum for the exchange of information between researcher and clinician. Each seminar is hosted by a Dana-Farber faculty member and features world-renowned visiting lecturers presenting their latest research to the Dana-Farber community. A gift of $50,000 will provide one endowed Seminar in Oncology each year.

Naming of physical spaces

Bridge to Longwood Medical Community

This new bridge, opened in June 2001, serves as a gateway between Dana-Farber and its neighboring hospitals within the Longwood Medical Community. Allowing easy access for patients, visitors, and staff, this important gateway may be named for a gift of $2.5 million.

Lobby

Lobbies, used constantly throughout the day, are high traffic areas for both patients and staff. Beautifully decorated in panelled wood and with decorative artwork, the lobbies are warm, welcoming spaces that allow for easy access to clinics throughout the Institute. A gift of $500,000 or more would allow the naming of a lobby area.

Conference Room

A conference room creates the ideal environment for the vital exchange of information between scientists and clinicians, and for the creation of new therapies and methodology. This conference room may be named for a gift of $250,000.
