Meet the Members
Joseph Nies
Joe Nies is a long-time cancer survivor and founding member of Dana-Farber's Adult Patient and Family Advisory Council, serving as co-chair for three years. He has participated on many committees and projects, both at Dana-Farber and Brigham and Women's Hospital. He is also a founding member of "One to One: The Cancer Connection Program" and enjoys meeting and talking with newly diagnosed patients and their family members.
Joe is a retired CEO of Optima Precision and currently serves as a board member, advisor and consultant to non-profit organizations and emerging companies. He enjoys working with organizations in order to make a difference.
He has been married to a nurse who has managed to keep him alive during the 36 years of their marriage. They have three children who experienced the ride through cancer and the love that resulted from the process.
